Mumbai, Oct. 6 -- The Maharashtra BJP on Tuesday accused Nationalist Congress Party Sharad Pawar faction MLA Rohit Pawar of spreading incorrect information about the resignation of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission chairman and alleged that he was attempting to turn the students protest into a political agitation.

Maharashtra BJP chief spokesperson Navnath Ban said Rohit Pawar should study the Constitution before making statements on the issue. He maintained that the MPSC chairman does not submit a resignation to the Chief Minister but to the Governor or the President and said the chairman of the commission enjoys constitutional protection under Article 317.
