Mumbai, May 12 -- The Maharashtra unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday launched a sharp political attack on the Congress party, accusing it of insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by allegedly comparing him with Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

In a strongly worded post shared on X, the official BJP Maharashtra handle alleged that the Congress party had once again drawn a comparison involving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Aurangzeb.

The BJP further claimed in the post that the Congress had earlier compared Shivaji Maharaj with Tipu Sultan and has now allegedly repeated a similar act by drawing comparisons with Aurangzeb.
