Shimla, Sept. 6 -- Himachal Pradesh BJP president Rajeev Bindal on Sunday accused the Congress government of weakening the state's education and healthcare systems, alleging that thousands of schools were functioning with inadequate teaching staff and a large number of government posts remained vacant. Addressing a training workshop and district office-bearers' meeting in Sirmaur, Bindal said the condition of education and health, two of the most important sectors, had deteriorated despite the government's claims of bringing about administrative reforms.

He alleged that around 3,500 schools in the state had been reduced to single-teacher institutions, while more than 150 schools did not have a single teacher.
