Bhubaneswar, Aug. 14 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday announced plans to launch a fresh agitation against the recently passed Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR) Amendment Bill and the prevailing irregularities in Odisha's education sector.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the party's Political Affairs Committee, chaired by BJD president and Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly Naveen Patnaik here, where members discussed a range of issues, including farmers' problems, the MMDR Bill, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, panchayat elections and organisational matters.
