Bhubaneswar, June 21 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday demanded the immediate withdrawal and replacement of school textbooks allegedly containing more than 1,700 spelling, factual and contextual errors, accusing the BJP state government of negligence and tarnishing Odisha's image.
In a post on X, BJD spokesperson and Media Coordinator Lenin Mohanty alleged that Odisha was making national headlines "for all the wrong reasons," citing glaring mistakes in school textbooks.
He claimed that some books incorrectly stated that "Newton was a pilot" and misidentified Hampi as the Sun Temple at Konark.
