Bhubaneswar, June 1 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Odisha government, alleging that the state's police administration has crossed all limits of brutality and that incidents of custodial torture and police excesses are on the rise.
Addressing a press conference here, BJD spokesperson and media coordinator Lenin Mohanty, along with Biju Chhatra Janata Dal president Ipsita Sahoo, alleged that innocent citizens are increasingly being subjected to third-degree torture inside police stations, while the police have failed to provide justice to victims of crime and violence across the state.
