Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for vandalising the statue of legendary former Odisha Chief Minister and freedom fighter Biju Patnaik at Siali Beach in Jagatsinghpur district.
A BJD delegation visited the site at Siali Beach under Padampur Gram Panchayat in Ersama block and took stock of the incident. The delegation strongly condemned the vandalisation and expressed anguish over the alleged disrespect shown to the iconic leader.
The delegation demanded that the police immediately identify and arrest all those involved in the incident and urged the authorities to restore the damaged statue at the earliest.
