Bhubaneswar, Aug. 10 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday demanded a CAG audit of Odisha's power distribution companies, alleging financial irregularities and serious lapses in consumer services.
Former minister and MLA Dr Arun Sahu and former minister and MLA Captain Dibyashankar Mishra alleged that the previous BJD government had created substantial power infrastructure in the State before Tata Power took over distribution operations.
They questioned the absence of an audit to establish how much the company had spent on infrastructure development as mandated under the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) guidelines and bidding conditions.
