Bhubaneswar, June 18 -- The opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday accused the BJP-led Odisha government of issuing contradictory statements on teacher recruitment and the handling of error-ridden school textbooks, alleging a lack of coordination between Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and his Council of Ministers.
Addressing a press conference here, BJD spokesperson and media coordinator Dr. Lenin Mohanty termed the government's claim of recruiting 36,000 teachers over the past two years as "factually incorrect" and misleading.
Mohanty said Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan had claimed that the government recruited 36,000 teachers in the last two years and would appoint another 18,000 this year.
