Bhubaneswar, June 30 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday accused the BJP-led Odisha Government of failing to control the growing incidents of mob violence in the state and alleged a serious deterioration in law and order.

Addressing a press conference, BJD spokesperson Lenin Mohanty strongly condemned the recent incident at Banpur in Khordha district, where a person was allegedly beaten to death despite the presence of police personnel.

Mohanty alleged that the increasing incidents of mob violence reflect administrative failure and inability of the state government to maintain public order.

He claimed that criminal incidents are being reported regularly across different parts of Odisha, indicating a weakening law-and-order situation....
