Hyderabad, July 30 -- Researchers at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus have developed a low-energy, three-stage wastewater treatment technology that converts biopharmaceutical wastewater into reusable water and methane-rich biogas, offering a sustainable solution for the pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing industry.
According to a release issued here on Thursday said, the innovative system replaces conventional chemical- and steam-based sterilisation with Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology, achieving 99.9999 per cent bacterial inactivation without the use of chemicals or heat.
