Munger, March 19 -- Chief minister Nitish Kumar said on Thursday that Bihar was on the way to development and would soon join the league of developed states in the country.

Addressing a public interaction programme during his 'Samriddhi Yatra' in Munger, the Chief Minister recalled that law and order in the state was in a poor condition when his government assumed power. He said that people earlier feared stepping out after dusk, but the situation has changed significantly, with the rule of law now firmly established and citizens able to move freely without fear.

Highlighting achievements of his government, Kumar pointed to progress in education, government employment, self-employment, agriculture and dairy and fisheries sectors. He said ...
