Patna, Sept. 10 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said Thursday his government would make efforts to include a provision in the Farakka water agreement for ensuring that the state can access its share of Ganga water whenever required.
Addressing a programme here, Choudhary stressed the need for better management of water resources in the interest of Bihar and said effective management of the Ganga from Buxar to Bhagalpur was essential.
He said under the existing water-sharing arrangement with Bangladesh, Bihar could utilise Ganga water only during four months -- July, August, September and October.
