Patna, June 6 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday said the state would develop Olympic-standard sports infrastructure and work towards hosting international sporting events, reaffirming the government's commitment to making Bihar a major sports hub.
Chairing a review meeting of the Sports Department, Choudhary said world-class sports infrastructure was being developed across the state and athletes were being encouraged through initiatives such as the "Medal Lao, Naukri Pao" scheme.
The Chief Minister directed officials to complete the under-construction International Cricket Stadium at Rajgir by December 31 and to build separate international-standard stadiums for different sports at the Dumri Sports Complex in Patna.
