Patna, May 3 -- The self enumeration campaign underway in Bihar as part of India's Census 2027 has received an encouraging response across the state, with more than 4.85 million people participating in the first phase.

According to official data, between April 17 and May 1, a total of 4,850,848 individuals registered their participation in the campaign. Of these, 168,564 people initiated the self-enumeration process, while 4,682,284 successfully completed it.

The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation across districts. Madhubani topped the list with 605,824 completed self-enumerations, followed by Vaishali with 586,220 and Darbhanga with 495,331.
