Patna, Sept. 8 -- Bihar Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Tuesday said that water security, modern irrigation and climate-resilient agriculture would play a crucial role in improving farmers' livelihoods and transforming the state's agricultural landscape.
The Agriculture Minister said here that amid changing climate conditions, scientific management of water resources and expansion of modern irrigation facilities are essential to make agriculture more efficient, sustainable and resilient to risks.
Sinha said that, with this objective, the Bihar Water Security and Irrigation Modernisation Project is being implemented jointly by the World Bank and the Bihar government, with an estimated expenditure of Rs 4,415 crore.
