Patna, Aug. 21 -- Bihar Rural Development and Information and Public Relations Minister Shravan Kumar said Thursday that Bihar was the only state in the country providing financial assistance to poor beneficiaries not only for construction of houses but also for their repair and painting.
Kumar distributed house keys to beneficiaries of 2.35 lakh houses completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin at a function organised by the Rural Development Department.
Sanction letters were also distributed among newly selected beneficiaries at the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Kumar said a total of 49,17,344 applications had been received in Bihar under PMAY-G since 2016-17, of which 49,09,829 houses had been sanctioned and 42,18,02...
