Patna, May 18 -- The Bihar government Monday announced a major push to promote electric vehicles (EVs), offering financial incentives to encourage cleaner and greener transportation across the state.
According to the Transport Department, women buyers will receive a subsidy of up to Rs 1 lakh on the purchase of electric cars, while assistance of up to Rs 12,000 will be provided for electric two-wheelers.
Officials said the initiative is aimed at reducing pollution, generating employment, and accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility. The state has set a target that by 2030, 30 percent of all newly purchased and registered vehicles will be electric.
