Patna, June 13 -- : The Bihar government has identified 23 bridges in critical condition during a statewide safety assessment of major bridges, with heavy vehicles temporarily barred from four in the interest of public safety.

The findings emerged during a high-level review meeting chaired by Road Construction Department Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal, who reviewed inspection reports of bridges measuring more than 60 metres in length under the jurisdiction of the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited.
