Patna, Feb. 24 -- Amid a noisy exchange between the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Treasury benches in Bihar Assembly, the government today announced to hold talks with representatives of chowkidars and dafadars and sympathetically consider solutions to their problems.

As soon as the House assembled for the day, RJD MLA Kumar Sarvjeet raised the issue of police lathi-charge and excesses on chowkidars and dafadars who were protesting in Patna in support of their demands. He accused the government of suppressing the democratic right to protest.
