Patna, July 23 -- The Bihar government Thursday announced stringent action against those involved in the violence that broke out during a students' protest in Patna yesterday, alleging that anti-social elements had infiltrated the agitation with political motives to spread violence, target journalists and legislators and destabilise the state government.

Making a statement on behalf of the government in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary said the government would identify every person involved in the violence and ensure the "strictest action" against them.
