Patna, June 1 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday congratulated athlete Piyush Raj for creating history by becoming the first sportsperson from the state to win a medal at the 22nd Junior Asian Athletics Championship.
Choudhary said here that Piyush's achievement was a matter of immense pride for Bihar and reflected the growing potential of the state's young athletes on the international stage.
Piyush was a member of the Indian team that won the bronze medal in the men's 4x400 metre relay event at the championship held in Hong Kong, China. The Indian quartet clocked 3:05.54 seconds, setting a new meet record and bringing laurels to the country.
