Patna, Aug. 27 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary Thursday conducted an aerial survey of the Gandak River from Sonepur to Valmikinagar to assess the situation in border and potentially flood-affected areas following heavy flooding in Nepal.

During the survey, Choudhary reviewed the flood situation and possible impact in Bagha, Valmikinagar, Bettiah, and Motihari, besides taking stock of the administrative preparedness to deal with any eventuality.

After landing at Valmikinagar, the Chief Minister inspected the Valmikinagar Barrage and reviewed the water discharge upstream and downstream. The discharge was around 1.06 lakh cusecs at the time of inspection.
