Patna, April 29 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday announced an ex gratia of Rs 8 lakh to the family of the migrant worker shot dead in Delhi.

Expressing deep sorrow over the death of a migrant labourer from Khagaria district who was killed in a firing incident in Delhi's Dwarka district, the Chief Minister termed the incident as "extremely tragic." He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and described the loss as irreparable.

Choudhary directed officials to provide financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh from the Labour Resources Department and an additional Rs 4 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the victim's dependents.
