Patna, June 8 -- The Bihar Cabinet Monday approved a series of major policy initiatives and infrastructure projects covering rural employment, irrigation, flood management, drinking water supply, urban development, agriculture, social security, and industrial investment promotion.

The Cabinet gave its nod to the Viksit Bharat-Rozgar Evam Aajeevika Ke Liye Guarantee Mission (Rural), popularly known as Viksit Bharat-GRAMJI, which will come into effect from July 1 this year. The scheme is aimed at strengthening employment opportunities and livelihood generation in rural areas.
