Patna, July 22 -- Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar, in his ruling directed Sugarcane Industry Minister Sanjay Kumar to convene a meeting within one week with legislators and government officials to find a solution to the issue of pending payments of sugarcane farmers.
The ruling came during a discussion in the Assembly on a call attention raised by Barauli MLA Manjit Singh, who highlighted that Manjha Sugar Mill has outstanding dues of Rs 43 crore to farmers and Rs 9 crore to its employees, pending for more than four and a half years.
