Samastipur, June 27 -- A 22-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death following a dispute during a Muharram procession in Samastipur district.
Police said here on Sturday that the incident occurred late Friday night at Gopalpur Bhutta Chowk under the Kalyanpur police station area while a Muharram procession was passing through the locality.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Javed (22), reportedly got into an altercation with a group of youths over an old rivalry. The argument soon escalated, following which the assailants allegedly attacked him with a knife. Javed succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
The accused fled the scene immediately after the attack.
