Munger, Sept. 8 -- The sixteenth Lakshminarayan Mahayajna began at Paduka Darshan here on Tuesday, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Dada Guru Swami Sivananda Saraswati.
The observance will conclude with the purnahuti on the birth anniversary of Paramahamsa Swami Satyananda Saraswati.
Presiding over the programme, Paramahamsa Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati said devotion was not confined to ritual but involved the transformation of one's inner life through emotional balance and purification of the mind.
Vedic chants, devotional singing and the chanting of "Om Namo Narayanaya", "Om Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah" and the Sadguru Gayatri marked the opening of the Mahayajna.
