Madhubani, Oct. 10 -- The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) arrested a 31-year-old Nepalese national and seized 163 diamond-like stones weighing a total of 10 carats during a security check along the India-Nepal border in Bihar's Madhubani district, officials said on Saturday.
The recovery was made about 500 metres from Border Pillar No. 269/06 during passenger screening at the Betaunha-Marar checkpoint.
According to information received, personnel from the Betaunha Border Outpost under the ''F'' Company of the SSB''s 48th Battalion were conducting routine checks on people crossing the border. During the operation, a passenger entering India from Nepal was stopped for inspection.
