Ara, June 25 -- The judicial inquiry into the alleged police encounter of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, a popular social media activist who was killed in Bhojpur district on June 17, formally began on Thursday, with retired judge Vinod Kumar Sinha visiting the victim's family and assuring them of a fair and transparent investigation.

The Bihar government has constituted a judicial inquiry committee headed by Justice Sinha to examine the circumstances surrounding the encounter that took place in Bilauti village under Shahpur police station area.
