Patna, Nov. 5 -- Jan Suraaj today sought termination of the membership of independent MLCs Banshidhar Brijwasi and Rahul Raj in the Bihar Legislative Council, alleging violation of democratic principles and betrayal of voters.
Jan Suraaj-backed candidates Afak Ahmad from the Saran Teachers'' constituency and Dr Vimohan Kumar from the Tirhut Graduates'' constituency met Legislative Council Chairman Dr Ram Bachan Rai and submitted a formal petition seeking action against the two MLCs.
Ahmad alleged that the two legislators'' political moves had raised serious questions about democratic propriety and amounted to a betrayal of the mandate of voters. He said supporting documents and other evidence had been submitted along with the petition. Th...
