Lucknow, Sept. 22 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced biennial polls for 10 Rajya Sabha seats and 11 MLC seats in Uttar Pradesh next month.
Elections for the Rajya Sabha seats will be held on October 16, while those for the MLC seats will be held on October 23.
Of the 10 Rajya Sabha seats, eight are held by the BJP, one by the Samajwadi Party (SP), and one by the BSP. All members' terms expire on November 25. Elections will be held for the seats held by BJP Rajya Sabha MPs Arun Singh, Geeta Shakya, Neeraj Shekhar, Brijlal, BL Verma, Hardeep Singh Puri, and Seema Dwivedi.
