Bengaluru, July 15 -- Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday launched a blistering counterattack on union Minister HD Kumaraswamy over the proposed Bidadi integrated township project, accusing him of political hypocrisy and asserting that the controversial project was conceived, approved and advanced under the JD(S)-BJP coalition government led by Kumaraswamy himself.

Displaying what he said were official government records, cabinet decisions and gazette notifications dating back to 2006, Shivakumar maintained that his government was merely implementing a long-standing policy initiated by previous administrations.
