Bengaluru, July 18 -- The battle over the proposed Bidadi Integrated Township has escalated into a full-fledged political confrontation, with Karnataka's two principal opposition parties -- the BJP and JD(S) -- launching separate agitations against the Congress government over the project, alleging it threatens farmers' land and livelihoods.
Stepping up its campaign, the JD(S) on Saturday announced a three-day padayatra from Bidadi to Bengaluru from July 30 to August 1, while the BJP, which had earlier declared its own protest march, is expected to announce its schedule shortly.
