Bengaluru, Aug. 10 -- Former Prime Minister and JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda joined the second day of the BJP-JD(S) 'Bengaluru Chalo' padayatra on Monday, intensifying the opposition to the proposed Bidadi township project and accusing the government of failing to adequately address the concerns of farmers whose land could be affected by the project.

The padayatra, being organised from Bidadi towards the NICE Junction, saw a large number of BJP-JD(S) workers and farmers participating. The day's programme covered around 15 km, with hundreds of farmers gathering at the GBS Circle as the march proceeded towards Bengaluru.
