Hyderabad, June 22 -- Bhupalapally District Transport Officer (DTO) Venkanna (47) was killed in a road accident while conducting vehicle inspections in front of the Regional Transport Office near Chelpur in Ghanapuram mandal of Bhupalpally district on Monday morning.
According to police, the incident occurred when a harvester seized during a vehicle check was being shifted to a secure location. An out-of-control coal tipper first rammed into the harvester and then struck Venkanna, who was standing beside his parked car. He died on the spot, while his vehicle was partially damaged.
A native of Hanamkonda and a 2012-batch transport officer, Venkanna had been transferred from Jagtial to Bhupalapally district just 15 days ago.
