Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- Around 630 leading athletes, including 342 men and 288 women, from 27 states and union Territories will compete in the 65th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships 2026, scheduled to be held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar from June 24 to June 28.

The championship is being jointly organised by the Athletics Federation of India and the Odisha Government's Department of Sports and Youth Services.

The five-day event will serve as a key qualification platform for the Asian Games 2026 to be held in Japan from September 19 to October 4.

A total of 45 medal events will be conducted across various track and field disciplines, including sprinting, hurdles, high jump, long jump and javelin throw.
