Kathmandu, Sept. 6 -- The death toll from devastating flooding along the Bhote Koshi river has risen to 1,341, while 4,044 people remain missing, Nepal Police said on Sunday as the Gyirong Port, the epicentre of the floods, has been completely washed from existence.
Search and rescue operations are still continuing across the affected river basin, according to the latest update issued by Nepal Police Headquarters.
A total of 7,912 police personnel have been deployed to areas affected by the flooding, with 65 officers among those directly impacted by the disaster.
