Visakhapatnam, July 29 -- Andhra Pradesh Information and Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasaradhi on Wednesday said North Andhra, once known for large-scale migration, is emerging as a major investment destination, with the upcoming Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram expected to accelerate the region's economic growth.
Addressing a press conference here, the minister said the Bhogapuram airport would serve as the "Gateway of Global Andhra" by boosting passenger traffic, exports, tourism and logistics, while generating direct and indirect employment opportunities.
He said the greenfield airport has been designed with environmentally sustainable features and architecture inspired by the region's cultural identity.
