Hyderabad, March 11 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday announced that a model colony would be developed for the poor in Velugumatla of Khammam district and reiterated the government's commitment to provide houses to every poor family in the state.

Speaking at the distribution of house pattas to the poor at the Khammam Collector's Office, he said the state government led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had allocated Rs 22,500 crore at one time for the construction of about 4.5 lakh Indiramma Housing Scheme houses, creating a record in the country.
