Mumbai, May 4 -- Following the Bharatiya Janata Party's sweeping victory in West Bengal, members of the Bengali community residing and working in Mumbai celebrated the outcome with enthusiasm, distributing the popular regional snack 'jhal muri' along with sweets.

In areas such as Zaveri Bazaar and Kalbadevi, where a large number of Bengalis are engaged in jewellery-making and allied professions, a celebratory atmosphere prevailed soon after the election results were announced. People were seen exchanging sweets and congratulating one another, while vendors also served jhal muri, a favourite snack associated with Bengal.
