Snehal SenguptaKolkata, June 22 -- In a major policy push to attract big-ticket investments, the West Bengal government on Monday announced that projects worth Rs 100 crore and above would no longer require trade licences, building plan sanctions or similar clearances from civic bodies anywhere in the state.
Bengal's Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta made the announcement while presenting the BJP government's first full Budget in the Assembly, saying the exemption was aimed at improving ease of doing business and fast-tracking large industrial and commercial projects.
