Kolkata, May 30 -- At least 15 per cent of beds in private hospitals and nursing homes across West Bengal have to be allotted for the free treatment of patients, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said on Saturday.
Adhikari made the announcement during a programme at the Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Hospital in Salt Lake, where the free Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programme for the state's adolescent girls was inaugurated.
"At least 15 per cent of beds in private hospitals and nursing homes have to be kept free for the treatment of the needy as well as in cases where there are no beds available in government hospitals," Adhikari said.
