Kolkata, May 3 -- The Election Commission of India has made extensive preparations to ensure a smooth, transparent and secure vote-counting process as West Bengal gears up for the crucial counting day on Monday drawing a curtain on the two months of electoral process.
The counting that is scheduled to begin at 8 AM in the morning will decide the fate of 2,920 candidates across 293 Assembly constituencies.
The commission has made extensive administrative and security arrangements so that the counting process can continue peacefully.
Earlier the commission had announced 87 counting centres across the state but later it was reduced to 77, streamlining operations while maintaining strict monitoring mechanisms.
