Kolkata, Sept. 10 -- The West Bengal government has directed schools across the state to involve students and their families in a lamp-lighting programme on September 17 as part of a month-long campaign to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years in public service.
Announcing the programme from Nabanna on Thursday, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said the state would observe a series of programmes from September 17 to October 10.
The main celebrations will commemorate 25 years of Modi's public service, which will complete on October 7.
The School Education Department has subsequently issued instructions to district school inspectors to prepare lists of students across the state.
