Kolkata, Oct. 14 -- The Special Task Force (STF) of the West Bengal Police seized several firearms, pistols and cartridges from an illegal arms manufacturing unit operating inside a house here, an officer said on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, the STF raided the premises and seized the firearms, ammunition and equipment used for manufacturing weapons.
According to police sources, the illegal arms unit was uncovered during a raid on Tuesday at a house in Ayubnagar, under the jurisdiction of Nadial Police Station.
The owner, who allegedly operated the manufacturing unit inside the house, fled before the raid.
