Kolkata, March 22 -- With the state Chief Electoral Officer's office confirming that the first electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) will be released on Monday, the government has alerted the district magistrates and police stations apprehending law and order disruptions.
The state Home department has instructed district magistrates to heighten vigilance, particularly in sensitive zones.
The department has also asked all the police stations to make arrangements for sufficient police deployment to handle anticipated crowds at government offices and to work in close coordination with senior law enforcement authorities to prevent any disruption.
