Kolkata, June 13 -- Multiple teams of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), accompanied by Central forces, on Saturday conducted marathon searches at eight premises linked to Trinamool Congress MLA and former state minister Madan Mitra as part of its probe into the alleged municipal recruitment scam in West Bengal.

The anti-money laundering agency carried out the searches stretching over 11 hours at locations associated with the Kamarhati MLA in connection with allegations that appointments in seven municipal bodies were secured in exchange for money and gold.
