Kolkata, March 12 -- The West Bengal government on Thursday issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure uninterrupted supply of cooking gas for essential services such as midday meals in schools and food preparation for patients in hospitals amid concerns over a possible LPG shortage.

According to the SOP released by the state secretariat Nabanna, cooking gas supply will remain unaffected for crucial services as well as domestic households.

The government also announced several precautionary measures, including the opening of a 24-hour control room, the formation of a monitoring committee and the launch of a helpline to address public concerns.
