Burdwan, Aug. 25 -- Fear has gripped students and teachers of a primary school in East Burdwan's Galsi after a Russell's Viper was found inside a classroom on Monday, with the school reportedly witnessing repeated incursions by venomous snakes.
The rescuers said it was a female snake and had posed a threat to the children as they were shouting on seeing it in the corner of their classroom.
The Khetura Adivasi Primary School in Galsi-II block has almost caved in, sinking its mud-walled classrooms. Cracks have developed on walls and floors, with risk of total collapse. The venomous reptiles, as was learnt, are getting easy chances to sneak into the classrooms. The school, located beside a large pond, accommodates 66 kids altogether.
